To encourage international cooperation in education as a means of promotion high technology in Southeast Asia, Thailand is the home of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), where over 1,000 students from Asia and elsewhere attend courses in 4 academic schools: Management, Civil Engineering, Advanced Technologies, Environment, Resources and Development. About 150 professors from Asia and the Western countries from teaching staff at AIT. Courses in Management, Development, and Computer Sciences are offered throughout the year. The Asian Disaster Preparation Centre at AIT is also a unique training institute in this region.


Joint programmes at the international level are also conducted in other universities such as the SASIN Graduate Institute of Business Administration, operated jointly between Chulalongkron University, Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania in the U.S.
